Mas Llagostera is a rural tourism house with centuries of history. When deciding to restore the house, the Solé-Bundó family was aiming to create a quality offer without giving up the coherence with the environment and the legacy that has passed on from parents to children, generation after generation.

This is where the responsible wine tourism proposal comes from that, together with sustainable practices, maintains the essence of self-management and work of the rural way of life.

Mas Llagostera is a 17th century house located in the center of an agricultural operation in the Penedes wine region with centuries of history. It has been owned by the same family for generations. It has been constructed little by little from medieval times to the present day. The farmhouse was central for the life of the family and  all those who worked directly or indirectly in it.

The house was restored following construction techniques of the period the house was originally built in. Stables, barns and common rooms of the workers, were converted into comfortable rooms and bathrooms, preserving the true essence of what the house once was. Currently, the Mas Llagostera estate cultivates vineyards of traditional Penedès vine varieties and olive trees, from which we obtain our estate's oil.

A comprehensive energy self-sufficiency project that encourages savings and reuse of own resources was initiated. The house has the European recognition of the Ecolabel. Solar panels are used to generate the electricity and hot water that the house needs,  a biomass boiler generated by the farm itself (using pruning leftovers) is the main heating method and rainwater guarantees extra support for irrigation in times of drought.

Our project is fully commitment to the environment and the surroundings. Organic farming throughout the farm guarantees the nutritional value of the food and respect for the environment. The conservation of the old shelters and the dry stone walls have made the recovery and maintenance of the roads possible by creating a signposted route for visitors.
